When Sports is a Way of Life

Mr Naveen Jindal, the Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power, is a man of varied interests.

He is an accomplished polo player and renowned skeet shooter, who has represented India on several national and international platforms including in the Asian Games. Mr Jindal takes inspiration from the various sports he plays and uses the same mechanics to lead a life that has impacted many.

Polo

A prolific rider, an accomplished player and polo enthusiast, Mr Jindal is all of this and more.

He started riding at a very young age and soon developed a deep love for this sport. He has played polo for over 30 years and won several awards and accolades for the Jindal Steel & Power polo team, which has become an integral part of the Indian polo circuit today.

Skeet Shooting

A Sharpshooter

At the age of 15, Mr Jindal developed a passion for skeet shooting, which was further encouraged by his father who gifted him his first rifle. Soon, he became extremely focused on this sport and worked towards improving his overall performance as a shooter. He mastered his skills and technique under the guidance and mentorship of the world-famous sports shooter and Olympic winner, Juan Ghia Yarur of Peru.

Today, he is a national record holder and has represented the country in several national and international events in skeet shooting. He has also initiated and successfully got the import policy changed for the duty-free import of arms and ammunition for shooting as a sport. Earlier, only the top 10 shooters were allowed to import arms and ammunition which, through his untiring efforts was changed to the top 25 shooters.
